Cefn Tilla Court Wedding Photographer
The beautiful wedding of Harriet and Jacob at Cefn Tilla Court was a crazy non stop day from start to finish!
We started the day at the local village hall in Machen, which allowed all 11 bridesmaids to get glam’d up with the makeup artists while offering plenty of room for a few drinks and to get the day started! It was really nice to then move onto Harriet’s parents house, which was in a lovely area that had a real close-knit community feel. It felt so homely and I was made to feel very welcome ♥ Harriet was able to relax a little here, while getting her makeup done with the fabulous Victoria Fox. This gave me a little time to shoot some of the details of the day, including some of the lovely gifts Harriet’s bridesmaids had just given her at the Village Hall. One of their neighbours was then kind enough to allow for some space in her house for Harriet to get dressed, and those last minute finishing touches to be made. It felt really special for the neighbours to be involved like that.
The wedding ceremony itself took place at St Michael and All Angels Church, Lower Machen. Here we had the most down to earth, and hilarious ceremony ever! It finished with tambourines and a fantastic selfie taken by the vicar himself……on a selfie stick!
After replicating a past family tradition of carrying the bride over the church stile and a bit of confetti, we made the journey over to the incredible Cefn Tilla Court, Llandenny, Usk for the wedding reception. It’s a very grand manor house set in huge, diverse grounds and it had been beautifully decorated. The band was playing outside for everyone’s arrival, drinks were on hand, hay bales lay out in the gardens, outdoor games were waiting, the marquee was decorated, the teepees were looking rustic all lined up, and the piano was ready to be tinkled with – this wedding had it all!
We quickly did some group shots of family and friends and I was then able to spend a bit of time with the couple, for them to get a bit close and romantic. I loved the fact Jacob just made Harriet laugh all the time, and they had great banter together which along with the love they have for each other, really comes across in the photos. A Cefn Tilla Court wedding offers endless opportunities for some really intimate, natural photos. Oh and did I forget to mention there’s even a lake there? It’s things like this that make being a Cefn Tilla Court wedding photographer really awesome!
After some emotional speeches, the was a bit of chillout time to be had in the gardens. Cigars were smoked, chess was played and friends could have a good catch up around the hay bales – there was a really chilled atmosphere. This was of course until the REAL party began back inside the marquee! Music was supplied by the amazingly talented Jeris Music, who got the party started very quickly for those itching to get their feet on the dance floor (pretty much everyone!), after the newly weds had their turn first of course.
I don’t know when exactly that party ended….perhaps it never did, as Harriet and Jacob seem to have the just the right recipe to be happy together forever. ♥
