Clearwell Castle is a dream venue for brides seeking that fairytale castle wedding. Don’t let that think you need a traditional wedding here though, as inside suits some real party vibes on your wedding day. The ‘secret’ basement area is great for a late night dance floor party too.
Ellie-May began her bridal prep in the morning at her parents house, which was just so lovely to be present in. It gave a truly special and sentimental experience, adding a layer of comfort and nostalgia to the anticipation of the big day. Getting ready at the family home in the morning can be a lovely idea as there’s something profoundly beautiful about the juxtaposition of preparing for a new chapter in the midst of the place that has witnessed so many chapters of your life. Seeing Ellie-May’s dress for the first time was incredible. I’ve not seen a dress like it, and it was a pre-loved wedding dress she managed to find, which was beautifully original.
John and the boys arrived at Clearwell Castle to great the guests, so my second photographer was present to capture this with the boys and take some photos of different couples as they arrived. I love the main entrance into the castle with the old floorboards and warm fire. It feels so cosy.
The ceremony room is huge here and offers bridesmaids and the bride their moment walking down the aisle, nervously watched by the groom! After a beautiful ceremony, the rain held off long enough for confetti out the front, and a group shot of the full wedding party. The rain began at this point so group photos and couple photo’s were creatively done indoors among the beautiful decor, and these guys seriously rocked it! You get some gorgeous natural light flooding into the main entrance room, which is so good for candid’s too.
In the evening we were able to do sparklers and I took Ellie-May & John over to the bandstand for some intimate night time photo’s, which just turning out stunning. It was a really emotional day, and both these guys are so, so amazing together I really loved being their wedding photographer for the day!
