Harriet contacted me a week before their wedding, after their planned photographer unfortunately was unable to attend. We got on the phone straight away and talking everything through, I was stoked that it was at St Tewdrics House and the plans for the day sounded awesome and they were so loved up ♥ I absolutely love being a St Tewdrics House wedding photographer! 🙂
Having a winter wedding obviously carries it risks, but if you do get lucky with the weather, the imagery can be fantastic. Gorgeous winter styling, and the low sun in the sky can create a lovely cosy atmosphere, long shadows and warm colours. This wedding managed it all 🙂
The day started at St Pierre, Chepstow for some bridal prep which was really lovely as Harriet’s sister Daisy did the makeup. I always love it when close family are involved as much as possible! The theme for the day was basically gorgeous natural lighting, which right from the start streamed through the windows during the prep. The whole family was so welcoming and relaxed with me, it felt an absolute pleasure to be there right from the start.
At St Tewdrics House, the huge christmas tree greeted us next to the grand staircase. The design of St Tewdrics House is gorgeous for a wedding, they have nailed it perfectly there. It was time for the girls to have a few drinks, listen to some music and open some gifts. This was such an emotional moment, champagne corks flying and the letter from Jason had the tears flowing ♥
Downstairs friends and family were arriving and being greeted by Jason. The Courtyard, where the ceremony was being held, was looking so stunning with fresh flowers by the girls at Wren and May Flowers. Harriet’s Dad Lee has the most amazing iron work company FineIron , and he had a stunning arch made and decorated with flowers. This formed the center piece for the ceremony and set the scene beautifully.
After the ceremony, we did some confetti and family group photography and let the newly weds enjoy some food and drinks with friends and family for a little while, before taking them for a little walk around the grounds at St Tewdrics House. The sun was getting low in the sky, which is the perfect time to create that warm glow for the couple photos. I always encourage people to get close, breathe each other in and take in the emotions of the day. This creates real, natural moments you can feel. ♥
After some more drinks, Harriet and Jason wanted to do some sparkler shots which I was very excited about. As the light had faded, we gather bridesmaids and groomsmen around the happy couple on the patio, and just had a bit of fun – the photos are awesome 🙂
On the dancefloor the party was really taking shape courtesy of Boutique Disco, this guy is amazing on the decks, the atmosphere was really building! A circle formed around the couple and they went for it! With the log fires outside, and the dance floor full, this truly was the perfect day.
Here is a very small selection of the photos from the day, which really shows how beautiful St Trewrics wedding photography really is, along with the vendors used.
